Mike and An Kalaitzakis founded Air Excel in 1997 after both successfully managing a regional airline for eight years and realising there was room to create a new collection in the Tanzanian aviation landscape. Years of experience and pioneering routes, attention to detail, prioritising safety, customising and personalising flights, and providing high-end customer care on all services are the colours used behind each brushstroke in the collection.

Air Excel continues to be an owner-run and operated airline led by a pilot. With over 40 years of aviation experience in East Africa, Mike still takes great pleasure in personally flying the company’s clients. Being personally involved, Mike sets very high standards for his crew, and An continues to keep an eye on Air Excel’s organisation on the ground.

Whether travelling on a scheduled flight, a private charter or a scenic flight, the Air Excel collection includes six Cessna Grand Caravans C208B (one of which has luxury seating) and a twin-engine Let 410; and is dynamic, interactive and viewable across Tanzania, Kenya and surrounding East African countries.
