We give you the chance to be a benign predator where the ‘kill’ is a sighting of the Great Wildebeest Migration where giant herds of grazers move across Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Annually, over two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles circumnavigate through the Serengeti in search of the sweet grass after the rains. Close on their heels are the predators. Even closer are Nasikia’s Mobile Migration Camps where we make sure you get up, close and personal with one of the greatest wonders of the world.
Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp
Serengeti National Park (Kogatende area),
Mobile, 1 June- 31 October
The good news is we have upgraded our mobile camps. Our 12 tents remain mobile throughout the year, depending on seasonal reservation requirements and the location of the wildebeest migration. We pride ourselves on retaining the uniqueness and intimacy of the camp, with a focus on responsible tourism whilst being directed by the location and wildlife. The location at Kogatende, in the far northern areas of the Serengeti, puts you in a prime position for a game drive to Kogatende and the Mara River, one of the most ideal spots from which to view the herds run the gauntlet of crocodiles and hippos as they cross the rivers.
And don’t think that just because we are mobile means that it’s not extremely comfortable and cool. We call it glamping. Imagine a patio area with chairs and a table for relaxing; a bedroom area, with everything you could possibly need (robes, laundry bag, luggage racks, natural Zanzibari bathroom products); and yes, all of this completely protected from mosquitos. We are all about imported cotton sheets, soft pillows and home comforts so you experience being right in the bush – but in comfort. And it’s secure and restful.
The only imprint we like you to leave is an indelible memory of a magnificent experience, which means the camps are environmentally-friendly and include an extensive solar lighting system.
